Each morning Miss Merry leaves the barn with great excitement. She is headed out to graze. She can only graze on the grass before the sun brings the sugar up from it's roots, back into the blades.
Once she has found the best patch of grass she digs in.
Only stopping to answer the calls from the barn, they all are wondering where she has gone.
Then just at the right moment, usually about 30 minutes, she returns to the barn, visiting new friends along the way.
Merry, this dear old pony who floundered several years ago, only eats just a little bit of fresh grass each morning. For a pony who used to always eat too much, she now limits herself, returning to the barn when she is done.
I am still in wonder as to how this is happening, but so glad it is. She makes my job so much easier, no more chasing a pony who does not want to come in.
To Miss Merry and her wisdom...
