A few weeks ago I talked about my new love of Sunflower Sprouts and all the goodness that goes along with them. Well, I'm happy to report that my efforts to grown my own have been quite successful!
Just a few days after I planted the seeds up sprouted the sweetest little sprouts, wearing their seed shells as hats.
In no time at all really it was time to harvest, and as soon as they were washed up, I was adding them to my salads, and well, just about everything else really...
You'd be surprised what these mighty little sprouts get along with. Eggs for breakfast, a sandwich at lunch, and as a garnish with dinner. Heck I might have even put them on oatmeal if I hadn't thought twice about it. And best of all, it's just the beginning. Round two has already been planted, and just yesterday I saw the first few peaking out from the warm brown earth.
Happy eating!
