As the season’s gift giving comes to a close, and the end of the year quickly approaches, give one last present to the ones you love: the gift of nature!
From simple walks in the neighborhood, to sledding expeditions at the park, to building a backyard igloo (click
here for a great igloo book!) and snowshoeing in the foothills, exploring nature with your friends and family is a great way to spend those last few days of winter break!
Learning about and spending time in nature is such a wonderful part of life and childhood. That’s why we support organizations like the Children and Nature Network, the National Wildlife Federation’s greenhour.org, and the Wilderness Awareness School, who are working to provide children and families with opportunities for outdoor learning and exploration.
For our New Year’s resolution, we will be giving a portion of our profits to great places like these!
If you would like to support them as well, take a look at these
great shirts (100% of the proceeds go to support organizations working for child and nature connections). If you would like to give directly here are a few links to good places:
If you're interested in getting out and about where you live this week, but don’t know where to go, greenhour.org has a great
“NatureFind” section where you can just type in your zip code and it will show you all the green spaces near you!

No matter your gift giving method, whether of time, resources, or both, enjoy a little of the wonder the world has to offer these last few days of 2008!
Happy Exploring!
