There's nothing like playing a great game outdoors, especially on those warm summer days. Full of fun problem solving, skill and exploration, games are a great way to spend the day and an even better way to introduce kids to the amazing wonders of nature. From classic rounds of capture the flag, to tree inspired crafts and compass based activities, outdoor pastimes can open up the playground of the natural world. A while back the Children and Nature Network contacted us to see if we would ask our amazing community of parents and caregivers to help them with a project they are working on. Right now the C&NN is gathering information for their upcoming index of regional nature activities. They are looking for original ideas for enjoying time outdoors with children and they would love to hear your thoughts! They are interested in anything from crafts to games to different ways of observing animals. And if you have an activity that you would like to share that is also region-specific, even better! Since we love the Children and Nature Network (and the wonderful book that started it all), and we love giving gifts, this week one lucky winner will take home:
an Eco-friendly Fair Trade Soccer Ball and a Handcrafted Skittles Set
TO ENTER THE GIVEAWAY:
Simply share your unique nature-based activity in the comments for this post. OR If you are one of the people that can't wait for the C&NN guide to come out because you are having trouble finding great things to do with your kids, you can also enter this giveaway by telling us how nature is important to the children in your life.
If the C&NN selects your activity, they'll also credit you wherever the activity appears! The giveaway will close next Wednesday July 15th at 11:59pm MST and the winner (picked by a random number generator) will be announced Thursday July 16th! Thank you for participating and Good Luck!
