Rope... it comes in handy for so many things. Tying boats to a dock. Lashing lumber to the top of a car. Climbing up a rock face hundreds of feet from the ground. Tying a tarp over a picnic bench so you can eat comfortably when it rains during a camping trip... and so much more.
Rope can't do this all on its own though, you need to know how to use it. That's when knowing a few useful knots really comes in handy. Here are a few of our favorites.
The Sheet Bend Knot is one of those ones that is indispensable, because we've all had those times when we didn't have a long enough rope and needed to make and extension. With this amazing knot you can even securely tie rope together of different thicknesses!
The Taut-Line Hitch Knot is another one we could never live without. This knot is adjustable so you can slide it in or out so you can have....
... a secure taut line whenever you need one (great for setting up tarps while camping!).
We love this knot because it is great for those times when you need to make a structure for a tarp to lie on top of or you need to tie multiple items to a line and be assured they will not slip back and forth... plus... it's not too bad to look at either!
And finally, a Bowline knot is priceless for all those applications when you need a non slipping loop at the end of a line.
