Paddle to the shore... take a stroll on a boardwalk through the gigantic ancient trees and enter the enchanted forest of Meares Island. Reachable only by kayak or water taxi, this beautiful island is a place where you can't help but believe fairies and elves must be real. It's hard to think that someone would ever want to send a logging crew here.
Thank goodness it's still around for all of us to explore.
