Today we have a wonderful story to share, written by Amida's son Zee, age 10. A take on Laura Numeroff's If You Give A... series, it explores what would happen if you gave a parrot a berry. Thank you Amida and Zee for sharing such a great tale!
If You Give A Parrot A Berry:

If you give a parrot a berry, it will get excited and flap around. In its excitement, it will hit and break a vase. It will feel terrible and want to pay for it. Unfortunately, when it goes upstairs to smash its piggy bank, it isn't strong enough. While you go to the tool shed to get a hammer, it will see the mailbox and want to read the mail. Reading the mail, it will discover that it has been invited to a costume contest. After spending hours thinking, it will decide to go as a parrot. It will win "Most Realistic". As a prize for winning, it will get some marbles. The marbles will remind it of its favorite berries. And chances are, it will want one!
Thanks again Amida and Zee for sharing! To see more of Zee's lovely illustrations look here.
“... tell me a story” is a new series we are starting where we will share reviews of books we love, unpublished or new children’s books in audio or written form, and stories parents or kids have made up themselves and would like to share. If you would like to participate, we would love hear any and all of your tall tales!
