At the close of summer I am in wonder of my backyard friends. When I first started sharing stories here almost a year ago it was with a story about these beautiful wild hares that I share the land with.
They have continued to share the land with me, but now they come even closer and I often find them at my backdoor instead of the barn door.
Their gift is a quiet one that I receive when I glance at them....
Our backyard is a wild one but we still mow it, partly to keep fire risk down, and partly because we can't get all of the city out of us. The wild rabbits come close to nibble on it now and I watch them in the morning. In that moment my body and mind are resting, healing, wondering.... getting the daily reset I so need. It is with much gratitude that I say thank you to my backyard friends.
