The light is soft and the days are shortening, fall is here. Pasture grasses are growing slower or have quit growing.
Our herd of sheep leave the safety of the horses and go off on their own in search of tastier grass. There is no excitement in the morning to leave the barn.
During this time of year the farm takes on an air of disorganization. I find sheep almost everywhere. I will be cleaning stalls and suddenly they are there looking at me. They visit the draft horses and eat their hay which taste better then the grass.
I suspect Nellie the goat is the ring leader leading them all astray.
There favorite place is our backyard. We are almost ready to change over to winter paddocks and go off pasture but...
... until then a little disorganization is fine!
