Sometimes appearing overnight, it's no wonder these curious organisms have often been attributed to the world of magic.
Fungi are everywhere. They help forests grow by breaking down organic matter and by playing a fundamental role in things like nutrient cycling and exchange. Even though some can be lethal and toxic, others help us make bread, wine and cheese.... and well, ... mushroom risotto would be nowhere without them... And to top it all off, much like the coral variety pictured above... they are just plain fascinating to look at.
We love fungi!
