Dumpster diving generally means the recycling of a table, chair, lamp... something left in the ally not needed anymore...
... but trees?...
... yes trees! Two large trees were about to be cut up and thrown away after they had been taken out for a new remodel near where we live… their root balls were intact.
When he saw them lying there, my husband quickly stopped and asked.... and in true Tom Sawyer fashion he obtained permission... help was enlisted... and in about an hour... we had new trees!
They were planted just before a series of spring snow storms hit, we are keeping our fingers crossed that they take and have a long life.
In neighborhoods, developments, towns and cities, the removal of trees goes on daily. Check to see if they have a relocation program and help save a tree.
