The other day I was throwing hay at noon for the horses and there, just below Rocky's chin, was this... At first I thought it was a dried leaf but then it fluttered ever so slightly in the wind... it was a large beautiful moth!
He stayed there all day always right below Rocky's chin like he was telling him a wonderful story. He was still here at dusk when I returned and then by nightfall, he was gone.
The texture on his body ranged from fuzzy to the look of snake skin. His wings were at once architectural, symmetrical and full of grace while the dynamic of his shape, it's upturned tail, gave the feeling of determination in it's design.
I am going to remember him when coming up with a new sprite to keep the fairies company.
That moth just made my day.
