For several years we have all been catching, out of the corner of our eyes, a huge bird with a wing span as big or bigger than an eagle!
We have all had stories of it swooping by, almost at eye level, but none could really say what type of bird it was until today!
Out in the field sat a pair on the top of a downward sloping hill.
It wasn't until we blew up the pictures that we knew... Turkey Vultures.
They are not very pretty up close but their wing span, it's shape at take off and in the air, is majestic.
Taking off requires some ungraceful hops, but once airborne and from the corner of your eye, they are beautiful.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!
