Flo is a 10 year old mare who has a mind of her own. She can escape any fence line and does most days. Fortunately she likes her home and does not wander far. Nellie the goat is usually right behind her both are always into mischief.
On this day I was working at my desk and looked up to find them both right outside the door in the backyard grazing.
Our backyard is a native grass mix that we water every so often, needless to say it is greener than the pasture they both figured that out for themselves.
My husband inspected their work and said they were doing a great job mowing and causing no harm. They are both now fixtures in the backyard.
The other day I went outside to join them and sat down next to Flo, just listening to her soft munching of grass, watching her muzzle feeling and smelling at the
same time for just the right tender morsel. I think I may just have to sit and watch them both a few more times this summer...
To taking a break now and then...
