I've always been fascinated by flip books. The ability of something so simple as a series of fast moving individual pictures to create so much joy is just wonderful. My initial encounters with these high tech devices were in vending machines or in a home-made format, but recently mother nature showed me how its really done...
On a trip to Los Angeles, Deb encountered a very playful seagull and could not stop taking pictures...
Going through the rolls a few days later I saw it...she had actually shot a stop motion movie!...
I was mesmerized! I had seen stop motion nature photography before, but I never thought it could be so simple and fun...
Just by turning up the shutter speed (and adjusting for light of course) anyone can make their own stop motion nature movies!
This happy accident in photography has inspired me...a stop motion nature series is officially in the works...
