As a child, I remember those moments of absolute quiet, when the world appeared to stop just for a moment, and everything seemed magical and clear. But I also remember other forms of quiet, like breaking-a-an-antique-china-cup-quiet, and cuddled-up-with-my-faithful-stuffed-animal -"tagalong"-quiet...
Childhood is filled with quiet moments of all shapes and sizes...
... moments where anything can happen...
... and these are exactly the kinds of quiet moments author Deborah Underwood explores in The Quiet Book. Accompanied by the equally soft and beautiful illustrations by Renata Liwska, The Quiet Book explores the wide variety of soft childhood moments.
This book is simple in its content, yet absolutely impossible to put down. Every page took me back to those wonderful little moments that, to this day, are still so vivid. Even as adults, my friends loved this book, and quickly recounted their own quiet childhood moments upon reading.
Quiet moments are so important in childhood. It's a time to process and take in all the world has to offer.
Personally, I like the-view-through-my-horse's-ears-quiet...
