Now that it is officially Fall, I feel compelled to take a look back at one of the best summer pastimes...a day at the beach.
The power of the water, and the sheer fun of splashing around...not to mention great friends...
... all these elements and more come together in Wave, a delightful picture book by Suzy Lee.
Composed entirely from rough charcoal drawings, with the edition of vibrant turquoise and white pastels, Wave tells an enchanting story of curiosity and life lessons solely through the pictures themselves.
The drawings are wonderful and the messages soft and delightful. I really love the trend of simplicity in children's books lately, leaving room for the imagination to wander where it will.
Thank you summer for all the great memories...and thank you Suzy Lee for helping us to re-live them whenever we choose...
For a chance to win a copy of this lovely book, simply leave a comment on this post by 12pm MST Wednesday September 29th. The winner will be chosen by random number and announced Thursday September 30th.
Good luck, a hearty welcome to Fall on its second day!

"What a magical book. So much of our summer was spent at the shore. I have found myself looking back already and we are still making trips to the beach bundled in our fleece now but it has been so fun to see everything come full circle. Those flowers we enjoyed in the spring and summer now becoming seeds to study and wonder about. Thanks for a great giveaway."
Thanks for participating everyone!!
