I absolutely love the transformation ordinary objects like a lamp, or a vacuum cleaner undergo when just the right amount of light and darkness combine to create a shadow...
... of course seeing the potential of these transformations takes a little imagination and creativity...
... that's why I love Shadow, by Suzy Lee (you may remember her from the previous book review of Wave)...
... from the ever mesmerizing charcoal drawings to the unique layout, Shadow reunites us with our childhood curiosities, and the wonderful imaginary adventures that sprout from them.
Lee's ability to do so much with so little never ceases to amaze me...as the book implies, a wild and wonderful adventure is no further than the "click" of a light switch...
...enjoy!
