It's a bit chilly here at my house (-8 F at the moment), which means one thing... I will be staying inside (although I did sneak out to grab a photo of the wonderful crystalline hillside behind my home). With so much time spent indoors the past few days, my mind has turned to stories. Stories read and those made up, or even acted out. Stories about times long since past, full of magic and wonder...
... of a valiant knight in shining armor on horseback...
... slaying the evil dragon with his mighty sword to save the captured princess, and win the kingdom.
It really doesn't take much to bring a a classic tale, or a story made up on the spot, to life. All that is needed is a little imagination, some creativity, a little ingenuity, and voila!
Coconut bowls become horse hoofs thundering along a long and winding road, and two spoons transform into an epic sword fight you won't want to miss! You could even add suspense via thunder and lightning by way of a thin cookie sheet and a light switch.
So next time the winter cold has you bundled up inside, go ahead, bring the world of your imagination to life, and have a grand time doing it!
