Since 2008 we have had one eagle who would cross over our land in the early spring, but only in the spring, and then gone until the next. This year we have been graced with both Golden and Bald Eagles hunting on our land. There are two Bald Eagles always appearing together. They are also, I hope, nesting in the trees nearby (wouldn't it be wonderful if they were a breeding pair!).
I look at this as a indication that our land is returning to it's original balance with nature. Taking a picture of them has been a challenge, I do not have the right lens but that does not seem to stop
me from trying.
A few days ago I looked up and there they were circling, diving, riding the wind with wings in full extension, magnificent!!
The amazing part of this experience is that they stayed around much longer then in the past. When they move on, it is just a couple of strokes of their wings and they are out of sight.
Someday either I or they will get closer, but until then, this was just a gift I wanted to share with you. Thank you for visiting barn stories, it is such fun to hear of the little ones who are enjoying this series,
and the big ones too!
To all creatures wild and tame...
Life is constantly in a state of challenge and hardship with beauty walking right beside.
May the beauty always remind us of those in need...
May we keep those in need in Japan in our hearts. If you wish to be of help, here is a great list of resources.
