Spring officially arrives March 20th, but for me the change of seasons starts now at the beginning of March. The days are getting longer, there is a sweet smell in the air like no other time of year.
By now I am rested up from the holiday season and new ideas are beginning to flow, colors and textures are dancing in my head, and just the littlest peak of spring coming forth from the earth brings excitement. I think I mimic natures timing and start to create when she starts to create once again for another year.
I love all the seasons but as each passes I am ready for the new one to begin. Here we almost have four seasons, spring is the shortest turning quickly into the searing heat of summer, we do live on a high desert. Fall is equally short with winter as cold as summers are hot. What unites the year are the glorious sunny days, like the one we have here today.
With pen in hand simple shapes are beginning to appear seemingly on their own, with a needle, thread, plant dyed felt and my left handed scissors, shapes are becoming three dimensional, reworking the pattern many times until it is just right.
This Spring new fairies are in the process of creation as well as a new home or two, l but I just could not help myself and have added Booties and a Hat for the little ones that will be arriving this year.
Of course they are flowers that can be worn.
To the approaching Spring!
