Spring brings Sleeping Giants to Bryn Du Farm... at no other time of the year do I find Dolly and Charlie soundly sleeping each morning as I walk down to the barn.
Usually they are standing like sentinels waiting for me to open the back door and leave the house. I think they can hear me prepare inside the house, they have very good hearing. Spring has arrived with a dusting of snow but that does not deter them from laying down and soaking in the warmth of the sun.
Charlie was snoring, yes snoring, and very loudly before I woke him with my presence. Both were in no hurry to move.
I love how Charlie tucks his front legs up close to his chest and then as he lays down ever so delicately extends them almost like a ballerina to his side.
Dolly also tucks her front legs up close then rests her head on her shoulder closing her eyes to go back to sleep again.
Spring, sun, warmth, they are not going to move for anyone until they are ready....
To Sleeping Giants everywhere... spring is here or just around the corner but for the southern hemisphere fall is waking... its all in the cast of the sun.
