April is the perfect time to start thinking about waking up, not the every morning kind of wake up, I'm talking about waking up from the hibernation, the slower pace and bundled up feeling that winter puts us into every year. Take a look around you, what is changing?
To me it feels as though the world is waking up. The trees are budding, the grass is starting to green and the days have gotten longer and warmer (well,... most days).
These changes also make me think of waking up in other ways... as in watching the earth wake up makes me wake up to the earth. April is the home of Earth Day, so environmental concerns come to the forefront for me at this time of year as well. I find myself double checking the recycling, trying to save scraps of food for the compost and choosing my bike over my car a bit more every day.
Just as tiny changes over a long period bring about the changing seasons, so can small daily activities make a big difference for our earth.
How is spring waking you up?
