Here we are just a week later and my oh my, have these baby Buck Eye chicks grown!
Feathers are popping out everywhere. Their color and shape fills me with delight, creating a smile each time I peak at them.
The arch of the beak and neck, how the color is unfolding, with a dusting if red appearing as if they have been air brushed. Feathers emerging, I wonder how it feels...
They enjoy eating out of my hand and they drink lots of water, almost 2 containers each day. These little chicks love attention, stroking under their beak and on the top of their wing is their favorite spots.
Tail feathers are just showing up on Wynken. The lesson running at me in this grand adventure is that there is simple joy in just being here, yes joy! All little ones wild and tame express joy and wonder at what greets them on their arrival.
May we all remember that joy...
