Summer days are great for impromptu games made from...
... found objects and a little paint.
Especially when they encourage exploration...
... reward challenges with magic coins...
... and produce sculptures.... that last until the next gust of wind.
Yes, summer is great for games.
Stick StacksTM :
The best thing about this game is that it can really be made out of anything. Open up those junk drawers, pick up sticks at the park, grab some left-over paint from your last painting activity and you're set. If you don't have any wood discs for coins you can use bottle caps or cut out round pieces of cardboard.
For the set pictured above I assigned different values to the different colors and painted the objects accordingly. If a color had a high point value, then I would paint the objects that were hardest to stack with that color.
If you're playing for points you could play it with multiple players and calculate points based on balanced pieces. You could play with one person at a time and total up all of the different pieces that were balanced before it fell. The variations are endless!
Happy weekend!
