We have had eighteen days of ninety plus degree temperatures. The second longest period since the 1800's so a rainy day is a delightful and welcome event. All the fields were turning brown and the grass had stopped growing, flowers were wilting.
The horses hid out in the shed, peaking out to check if the rain had stopped, then venturing out, until the rain started again.
The wild sunflowers just glowed on this rainy day, the low gray sky made the yellow pop and the moisture replenished them.
Once the rain returned the horses were back in the shed peaking out at the world and the day. Packing in and being quite considerate of each other. No one was left out in the rain.
To the softness of a rainy day, to the slowing of time that it brings, to the peaking out and the wandering within...
May a rainy day find you, with it a lovely book in hand or a story to share, with your little ones...
