Rain arrived this afternoon, it was soft gentle no wind, thunder or lightning. I had not even noticed it as I was working at my desk. But after awhile I could sense something looking at me...it was the chickens. They were peaking in at me through the back door, getting wet was not what they wanted.
They are free range with a small coop we built for them, but remember the house as their first home and they like to visit from time to time, especially when it is raining. They are vocal about it, it's hard to have a conversation on the phone without them chiming in from outside.
With looks of determination all three will stand just looking until they are noticed.
This started just recently, in the beginning the big world outside captured their interest fully, I think now they have conquered that adventure and are returning to the comfort of the home they knew as chicks.
I let them visit for a moment or two when it rains, just for old times sake... they were just chicks a few months ago.
To returning home after grand adventures!
