We have a new addition to our Bryn Du Farm family!...
Meet Odin, our newest barn/house cat. He is an 8 year old purebred Maine Coon, weighing in at a rather large 19lbs (and no he is not fat). My daughter adopted him this summer from a local veterinary hospital. As you can see though, Odin (Odi for short) is the size of a small dog and has no lack of personality or opinions. Unfortunately my daughter's home was just too small for him, so he has come to live on the farm!
Right now he is staying indoors so he can get used to his new surroundings, but soon we will let him venture out a bit and get to know all our furry friends! So far he has met the chickens, and our sweet dog Vic, and we are happy to report they are all getting along quite well.
Odin really seems to be enjoying his new space, by night he prowls the premises for any intruders, especially of the rodent variety. Which was rather surprising to us, Odin was de-clawed before we adopted him, but that does not appear to hold him back one bit! He has already caught a mouse, which he promptly put in the bathtub for us to find and put back outside.
Being so busy in the evenings though, means Odin takes his naps very seriously. You could not budge him from his spot if you tried. The whole world goes quiet for him as he recovers from his mousing adventures.
If only we all could rest so easily...
