These three little chickens have been quite an adventure, everyday is something new and I am so grateful for the fun and giggles they bring. Although I am still not quite sure whether they are hens or roosters, no eggs laid yet. I think I just continue to hope that one or all is a hen but they are all the same and crowing... I have had the same luck with the sheep, only rams have been born for the last three years and we need some ewes!
All the same they are dearly loved and there is still time for them to lay eggs (crossing fingers). Hens have been ordered for the spring just in case.
Hopes and dreams are so intertwined but from my experience with them, the reality you hoped for does not always appear just as you thought it might, but then again it does. For you see hopes and dreams are mixed with a dose of surprise, which I think makes the journey such fun!
Right now these dear little friends follow me as I work outside, come when called and fly or try to fly when it's time to leave the coop in the morning. Chickens do fly the coop! I have left their wings in tact to allow them full movement in case a predator arrives. They do not fly high, but something tells me if needed they could.
To hope and dreams, mixed with a dose of surprise...
