It's now been a month since the green grass went dormant, all the grazing animals are looking for something better to eat. The wild rabbits have come in from the fields and are nesting under the hay barn floor or can be found snuggling into the corners of the barn. The horses like the company.
The sheep still go out but I am sure they wonder why? There is a lot of hunting to find something to eat, wandering further in search of anything green this time of year. I sometimes need to call in the Border Collies to help me remove them from the neighboring property.
And the horses... this was taken just after I let them out and they are just standing and staring. They know nothing out there tastes as good as their hay back at the barn!
To home where the heart is, or is it food?...
