Just after sunrise, right at the moment warmth can be felt from the sun, mama wild hares emerge from their holes, and right behind little baby wild hare follow. It's that time of year when early morning feeding of all the barn animals, is filled with lots of oh-h's and aww's....
This year's first little one to emerge has a touch of white just under his chin. His survival depends on how quickly he can disappear, and this little hare is quick. I was very lucky to get this picture.
A shadow from above, or a noise that is new sends him or her back down the hole. Mama hare stands close by to sound the alarm, teaching her little one when to hide.
I am just glad to have caught this moment instead of the normal glimpse out of the corner of my eye.
To this spring and to all that are just starting their journey...
