Nellie arrived on our farm in the fall of 2001. She was old then, needing a home. This dear goat, had given birth to a line of utility goat champions, many a 4 H kid got a goat to work with from her, she was famous for twins!
Nellie is loaded with character, full of mischief. At night the center isle of the barn is her home. There we have created a mound of paper shaving for her to sleep in. Why the center isle and not a stall? She escapes from them! Her favorite thing to do is visit all in the barn during the night. Touching noses, borrowing some of their food and dumping the wheel burrow of hay to get to the soft bits at the bottom. The barn is a mess in the morning after she has had her fun.
But I can never get mad at her, she just looks at you and makes a face, that brings a smile to yours.
To this, dear old goat, everyone should have one.
