Fall is my favorite season. I love all the others, but fall will always hold a particularly special place in my heart. No matter where I go, there is something beautiful and surprising around every corner.
It's the crisp feel in the air in the mornings, it's the warm yet soft light that makes everything just glow. Add in the reds, oranges and warm yellows and honestly for me, its perfect. It's in this time of year that I find myself more in the moment than at any other.
I carry my camera everywhere, because you never know what will happen, or when. Especially when it comes to sunsets. They are hit or miss in the fall because of the lower light and the increase of cloudy days, but man-o-man when they happen, fall sunsets out do themselves.
I got pretty lucky last week. I was headed home from work when a vivid shot of pink caught the corner of my eye. I had been trying to get home as quickly as I could because it looked like a storm was coming in, turned out it was just magic instead. I pulled over at the first good spot I could find, grabbed my camera, and let the moment show me where to go.
It was quiet, and incredibly still, not even the wind wanted to disturb this happening. The bright colors of fall contrasted off of the grey smoldering sky, that beautiful warm and soft light wove its way around every branch, and all of this was wrapped up in the bright pink and orange of the Sun's last rays. I filled my lungs with every bit of the moment that I could, and with an overwhelming sense of joy and calm, exhaled with deep gratitude.
For me, Fall is full of these moments, what moment have you gotten caught up in lately? Share yours in the comments section below!
