Winter is coming and it's time to start thinking about our dear feathered friends. Luckily our other dear (non-feathered) friend has written a delightful introduction to the wonderful world of birding to help us along through the winter months and beyond.
I first got to know her as a young girl building Sunflower Houses, and then later as an adult as I got to the know the birding and gardening world around me in a whole new way.
I am of course speaking of our good friend Sharon Lovejoy and her new book, "My First Bird Book and Bird Feeder."
From a regional guide to the birds in your area...
... to facilitating the chance to see these same birds up close in your own window sill...
... to bird calls, identification, and even recipes to keep your neighborhood birds happy and healthy through out the cold winter months, Sharon Lovejoy has created a sweet, informative and oh-so-delightful introduction to the wonderful world of birding (plus a great window bird feeder as well!).
To celebrate we want to give one of you the chance to get to know your local feathered friends too!
For a chance to win a copy of this book, simply leave a comment on this post by 8am MST Thursday October 18th. The winner will be chosen by random number and announced later that day.
And the lucky winner is, Peter Bangs who said:
"Absolutely gorgeous. Some of the most charming bird illos i've ever seen."
Thank you to everyone who participated!
