Early one summer morning I came across something completely magical. I was running down a path when suddenly I stopped dead in my tracks. It was like my body knew what to do before my brain could catch up, because had I run any farther i would have scarred off two very sweet little specked fawns and there beautiful mama.
As the summer wandered on I would cross paths with them every so often, either on the local trials or crossing the street.
But it had been a month or so since I had seen them when all of a sudden there they were again, in my good friend's back yard, although this time something was different...
Their sweet speckles had gone and in their place the older coat pattern of grey and brown. The two of them looked just like their mother, only smaller. I couldn't believe how fast it had happened! But what struck me the most was the connection. Maybe they are just used to people by now, but there was no fear or hesitation between any of us, it was just like running into an old friend. A lot has changed between when we first met and now, and many adventures inbetween, but that initial connection has never changed.
