It's been cold with very little snow this winter, the drought has extended itself well beyond the heat of summer. But with the cold comes wondrous cloud formations at sunset and dawn.
Just the warmth of the rising sun at temperatures near zero create banks of fog...
...and edges of clouds touching the ground right before you.
From the house, the horses are just an outline in the distance...
... with tree branches etching designs onto the landscape.
As the sun rises higher in the sky the cloud of fog relinquishes it's cover of the ground. To winter and to a wish for snow (I know, you have to be careful what you wish for!).
