I had a feeling about this morning... a feeling that told me to get up early and take a walk with my camera. The rain/ice/snow was coming down yesterday afternoon and evening and was due to clear by morning, which usually means something good is about to happen as the sun rises.
I was half right, morning did bring something wonderful to see, but it wasn't the sun...
... no, it was the moon, and what a lovely moon it was! This time of year it sets in an idyllic little spot on the ridge behind my home. Even better than the location is the timing, with the moon seting just as the sun is rising.
As I watched the moon dip below the horizon, the landscape appeared to move along with it, framing the moon perfectly, or perhaps it was simply tucking it in?
Either way, I am learning my lesson. No matter how cold the winter morning, it will always be worth it to wake with the sun, if only to say goodnight to the moon.
