Last year I got the best Valentine, a large flock of Robins filling every branch and roof line within a one block radius.
So when Valentines Day came and went and no Robins filled the trees outside my window I got a little sad...
... that is until a few days ago. Just a day before, I saw a few of my feathered friends, going after the Juniper berries across the street. I immediately went outside thinking the micro phenomenon was happening again. Sadly no dice, it was just a few. The following day I woke up to no Robins at all, well that's what I thought...
... right around lunchtime I looked up from my desk and there they were! On every tree branch and along every roof line within sight.
There were not quite as many as last year, but I'm thankful my neighborhood remained a rest stop on whatever migratory pattern the sweet little birds are on. Another wonderful thing I noticed the other day? That smell, that wonderful moisture and grass filled smell of spring.
Yes indeed, spring is coming... the Robins told me so.
