Every child goes through it, that time when Mom and Dad, and home are anywhere, but where they want to be. To my recollection this usually ends up with some elaborate plan to run away. I know I thought of many escape routes as a kid whenever my Mom and Papa, said no to the chocolate bar, or sleepover when I hadn't done my chores.
Of course I never actually ran away. My version of running away was more along the lines of Where the Wild Things Are, meaning I would usually just run away to my imagination. That's why this book, The Runaway Bunny by Margaret Wise Brow, with iconic illustrations by Clement Hurd is so wonderful.
It doesn't matter where the little bunny might run, or wat he might turn into, his Mama is right there with him. Just like my Mom was for me, and all Mamas are for their little bunnies. This may be a board book, but its simplicity ends there. The text is wildly and wonderfully imaginative, supported equally by the lovely illustrations. The colors too, are so dynamic and engaging, just the right thing to keep a little one's attention.
The book on it's own is a classic, a piece of easily transportable history disguised as a children's book. But paired with a another keepsake, like our Snow White Rabbit, and the combination is pretty hard to beat! Which is of course why we insist that all of you should have a chance at owning this wonderful combination!
For a chance to win the rabbit and a copy of the book, simply leave a comment on this post by 8am MST Thursday March 28th. The winner will be chosen by random number and announced later that day.
And the winner is... Sarah M. who wrote:
