We awoke to large flakes of snow softly drifting down. Cold temperatures and moisture are so welcome, and much needed! April's snow (no showers yet!), brings May wild flowers here on the farm.
Odin, our indoor watch cat, loves to observe the wild hare through the backdoor windows. On this day something had spiked his curiosity, his ears and eyes were focused intently outside.
When I glanced out, the landscape was bare, not even a prairie dog could to be found. Then all of a sudden...
... this little one, jumped into the bin of chicken brooder sawdust I had left out the backdoor. He discovered chicken feed was mixed in and had no problem helping himself!
What a close encounter, just a windowpane away! I think Odin's curiosity was satisfied.
To snow and the unexpected.
