It's that time of year, you know what I'm talking about... apples. Crisp, bright, juicy, deightful, apples.
We've spent the past few years exploring the varied, and completely delicious ways we can prepare this wonder fruit, so this year took a bit of thought... but not too much.
Thanks to our friend Ashley over at the blog Small Measure, and her wonderful canning and recipe devising abilities we were able to cook up one of our favorite fruits in a rather magical way. In this recipe from her book Canning & Preserving, fragrant cardamom combines with tangy apple cider, a hint of sweetness, and Washington state's finest to create a velvety and completely amazing bit of heaven that we can't put down.
And thanks to some newly acquired canning skills, we can continue to enjoy this Cardamom Apple Cider Butter for months to come!
