We had such fun making our Ladybug Hoodie Backpack/Costume last year, we thought the same design could lend itself to another bug. . .
. . . a sweet bee.
We love Bees here at IC. This backpack with its hoodie attached, is ready to hold all of Halloween's treasures, leaving your little ones hands free. Pull the hoodie up with the antennas attached to complete the costume, face paint is optional.
Follow the directions for our Ladybug Backpack/Costume, but do not attach the wings, just add two strips across the backpack about 2" wide each, we used felt but any yellow fabric will work. The antennas are made of felt rolled which is then blanket stitched. If you pull each stitch tight back towards the previous stitch, it provides the antenna with strength to stand up and gives them a gentle curve. The length of the antenna is the length of the side of the hoodie.
Two fun backpacks, that when placed over a dark jacket or black sweatshirt, turn any little one into a bug ready to enjoy All Hollows Eve.
Happy buzzing to all. . .
