We love bugs around here. . .
. . . but sometimes they can be. . .
. . . a little too aggressive. . .
. . . so we made this simple. . .
. . . lotion. . .
. . . to politely ask them to bug off.
Super Easy Bug Lotion
Ingredients:
- 15-20 drops of therapeutic grade essential oil (lavender and clove are good options for little kids)
- 1/4 cup organic raw coconut oil (or 1/8 cup coconut oil and 1/8 cup Shea butter)
- 1-2oz food grade containers (or whatever size you have on hand)
- Cloth bags, permanent markers, sticker labels (optional but fun, see 'with the kids' below)
Bring the solid oil to a liquid state by placing it in a metal or glass bowl in a bath of hot water (make sure the water does not get inside the bowl). Add the essential oil of your choice. If your little buddy does not like sweet lavender, perhaps they will like earthy clove.
Whisk the ingredients together and pour into containers. Allow to set at room temperature, or place in the fridge (if your room temperature is rather warm).
If your house is warm you can keep these in the fridge for long term storage, but the oil will remain solid at standard room temperature.
