One of my favorite traditions as a kid was the annual lantern walk my school would put on. We would all make paper lanterns out of our favorite paintings or drawings and would come back to the school one evening in November to meet up and see all of the beautiful creations. Afterwards, we would walk through the neighborhood singing songs and listening to the leaves crunch under our feet as a parade of handmade glowing lanterns lit the way.
It was a pretty magical experience. . .
. . . and a good reminder that. . .
. . . no matter how cold and dark the days get. . .
. . . all you need to make a little warmth. . .
. . . and light. . .
. . . is a handmade lantern and a few good friends to explore the world with.
Here are a few of our favorite DIY Lantern activities:
Happy November!
