I've been traveling a lot lately and every time I sit through the safety demonstration on the airplane I get stuck on the phrase "remember to put the mask on yourself before helping others". It's such an obvious thing, if you can't breath, you won't be able to help anyone else for very long. But, as someone who naturally leans toward caring for others and often forgets to care for herself, that instinct can seem less. . . instinctual, if you know what I mean.
Little by little though, I've learned the hard way, that if I don't take the time to care for myself and fill up my soul, I have less and less to offer to the world around me. That's why books like Keri Smith's The Wander Society are so important. They remind us to connect with the world. To pay attention to the small and beautiful details of each moment. To explore and play. To breathe.
Wrapped up in the mystery and intrigue of a secret society of wanders, it touches on some of our favorite topics. . .
. . . perfect for caregivers and parents, or simply those needing a little inspiration. . .
. . . to move through the roadblocks of day to day life. . .
. . . into the light. . .
of the big beautiful sun.
