Following the theme of last week, we're continuing to explore school subjects with a playful perspective. Up this week. . .
. . . grammar! In this fun project, you can. . .
. . . transform something often described as boring. . .
. . . into daily adventures for the whole family. . .
. . . all it takes are a few simple prompts and a little paper. . .
. . . to lead you on a beautiful expedition through the English language. . . and beyond!
English Language Adventures
Materials:
- Paper
- Envelopes
- Pencils and pens
- Notebooks (optional)
This project is very simple to put together, but is filled to the brim with creative potential. To start, write the various parts of speech and a simple definition on the outside of an envelope. On the inside of the envelope include a sheet of paper that has a prompt for an adventure inspired by the part of speech listed on the outside of the envelope (see example above for verbs).
Create a new prompt for each part of speech and fill the rest of the envelopes. Invite your sweet kiddos to pick an envelope each day and take some time to talk about that particular part of speech as you read the day's adventure prompt together.
Go on the adventure and enjoy your trip through the English language!
